Nowadays, courtyards of ancient architectural styles are dotted, merchants shouted one after another, and tourists continued.
Ma Hufeiye, who is over seventy years old, is an "original resident" of the 13th Lane of Bafang, and she has a deep sense of the landscape with shops in front of her.

Because of their poor contact with the outside world, they were called "mysterious places" by the locals. In her memory, the most profound are the adobe houses and potholes, the muddy roads on rainy days, and the scene of garbage.
Along with the trade, the environmental problems of Bafang and Thirteen Lanes have become increasingly prominent, which has become a "hard wound" that restricts local development. In 2013, the local government set out to repair the original residences of Bafang and Thirteen Lanes, and carried out protective development in accordance with the principle of “landscape into lanes and commercial courtyards” and the principle of “one lane with one feature, one step with one landscape”.
