Philippe Lellouche at the César 2020 edition - PARIENTE JEAN-PHILIPPE / SIPA

The radio transfer window is in full swing right now. On RTL, the programs of Stéphane Bern, Jacques Pradel, Sidonie Bonnec and Thomas Hugues will no longer be on the back-to-school grid, while Camille Combal will leave Virgin Radio at the end of the season. On RMC, the renewals are more abrupt, since the station announced to thank "warmly Philippe Lellouche for this season with his infotainment show acclaimed by listeners" this Monday, June 1, with immediate effect.

RMC listeners can now listen to Rémy Barret for the RMC program from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. , which takes Lellouche's place on the bill . If the radio station has given no explanation as to the sudden departure of its host, the recent events surrounding the program by Philippe Lellouche could be part of the answer.

"The great fierce feminists are ugly"

Friday, May 29, the inter-union UES Next reacted to sexist remarks made the day before by the host on his show. “The great fierce feminists are ugly. […] The real ones, pure and hard, the wicked, the snarling ones, these are frustrated, they are ugly, it must be said ”, had launched Philippe Lellouche during a debate devoted to evaluation of the French on their own beauty.

Here is the sequence dated May 28th on RMC. The original theme was a survey on the evaluation of the French regarding their own beauty. The animator then exchanged with an auditor. pic.twitter.com/6YgkjlzLbh

In its letter, the intersyndicale "strongly condemns" the remarks made on the air. “Mr. Lellouche is not at his first skid. Philippe Lellouche has repeatedly made sexist, misogynistic and retrograde remarks on the air. […] Laid off for comments of the same content, Mr. Lellouche does not seem to realize the seriousness of his words, ”read the press release.

In normal times, according to Le HuffPost , Lellouche on the bill would not have been renewed at the start of the school year, while remaining on the air “for at least 15 days. Despite the end of its broadcast, RMC wanted to confirm that Philippe Lellouche would continue to officiate on RMC Découverte. He has presented the French version of Top Gear there since 2015.
