Let's look at Ukraine.
Imagine: 2014 year. The freshly baked Ukrainian government, after listening to the voice of Donbass, says: “Yes, perhaps these people are right that they require the right to self-determination, to the Russian language. They always lived like that, and if we continue our national policy, their rights will be infringed. ” Therefore, in Donbass, a separate district is being created with a center in Donetsk, where special legislation is in force regarding the Russian language. Ah, Odessa wants it too? Okay, and Odessa.
Perhaps in this case there would not even be a war. There would be no killing of people in the House of Trade Unions of Odessa and a completely crushed city, once beautiful and free. There would be no broken houses, people left homeless, thousands of dead, Alley of Angels - dead children in the center of Donetsk.
No! This is out of the question. Ukraine is against any manifestation of dissent, Ukraine is united and indivisible, and Ukraine begins a war.

Now Ukraine is negotiating with Hungary to create a separate Hungarian region in the Transcarpathian region. 150 thousand Hungarians live in Ukraine, who insist on speaking Hungarian. Speaking Russian is not entirely forbidden, but if the seller speaks Russian in the store, the seller may be fined if the buyer is particularly picky. And in the clerical work, the Russian language is completely prohibited. After all, Ukraine has only one national language - Ukrainian, and all these nonsense remained in the past - where the regime of the criminal and bloody Yanukovych fell and with it the language law of Kolesnichenko-Kivalov (on regional languages), which, no doubt, would destroy the country, if "maidan" had not intervened.
However, the Hungarians want to speak Hungarian, and the Hungarian Foreign Ministry supports them in this. And what? That's how it turns out, everything is not easy. In this case, it is necessary to create a Hungarian region with a center in Beregovoy, which will include Hungarian, Ruthenian and Romanian settlements. Well, and in general - separately stipulate how Hungarian will be studied in Transcarpathia.
So why is the self-determination of Donbass a bad thing and the Hungarian region good? According to the memorandum on the settlement of the conflict between Ukraine and Hungary, this is because Hungarians in Ukraine are a national treasure.

Hungarians need to make concessions up to the creation of a special national region, which, in fact, poses a considerable threat to the fact that in the event of problems in Ukraine, this region will break away and sail to Hungary. Like the Crimea. Although not a peninsula.
In the Donbass, however, they are not people. Miners. Savages. Orcs and goblins. Titus. You can’t ignore their opinion, you can wave away a hand - it’s just that blood splashes suddenly from this hand, and Ukrainian planes are buzzing over Donetsk, and machine guns are shooting people racing around the city, and mutilated bodies are lying on the streets ...
However, what pity them? These are not people, they are orcs, why talk to them.
Another thing is a pan who has the power of kicking to kick an unlucky Selyuk.

There are no people for Ukraine. Not even in his own state.
