George Akiyama, his real name, Yuji Akiyama, grew up in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, from Tokyo, and made his debut as a manga artist with "Gaikotsu-kun" in 1966.

In 1965, in addition to winning the Kodansha Children's Manga Award for the gag manga "Patman X", in 1965, a poor young man announced "Kengeba", which repeats murder for money and honor, and later made into a movie.
