Many reactions in the sports world following the death of George Floyd, which occurred on May 25, 2020 in Minneapolis (North of the United States). Big stars of Formula 1, basketball, tennis, support demonstrations and demonstrators, while calling to remain peaceful .

Significant intervention notably for the pilot Lewis Hamilton. I know who you are and I see you  ," warns the British, six-time F1 world champion, who denounces the silence of the stars of his sport, "  dominated by whites  ".

Michael Jordan comes out of his silence

Lewis Hamilton mobilized, Michael Jordan also, between suffering and anger, which speaks of an ingrained racism. Enough,  " says the iconic NBA ex-star who peacefully demands justice for George Floyd. His successor as icon of the North American basketball league, LeBron James, spoke on May 27.

Basketball, American football, tennis: the reactions are more and more numerous. Serena Williams posted a video on Instagram of a tearful girl at a public meeting: "  We are blacks and we shouldn't have to feel like that.  Fledgling world female tennis star Coco Gauff, 16, wonders if she'll be next.

Marcus Thuram's knee on the ground

Demonstrations of support to Europe of course, with those of the former French tennis player Yannick Noah and his compatriot, the young footballer Kylian Mbappé. Perhaps the most striking is this knee on the ground posed yesterday by another football player, Marcus Thuram, son of Lilian Thuram, 1998 world champion. Marcus therefore, 22 years old, so called in homage to Marcus Garvey, the champion of reconciliation between whites and blacks, puts his knee down and bows after scoring twice for his club in Mönchengladbach in Germany. History to show that the essential is elsewhere.
