Lin Zhengyue said that he read the signed article by Chinese Ambassador to the United States Cui Tiankai on Hong Kong's legislation to safeguard national security. The article is concise and powerful, and there is a passage for American friends who have worked and lived in Hong Kong for a long time.

Lin Zhengyue quoted Cui Tiankai as saying that the establishment of the National Security Act can make these American friends safer and more secure, live and work in Hong Kong, and invest in business; the relevant legislation is to ensure the future of "one country, two systems" and the stable development of Hong Kong.

Lin Zhengyue also said that in recent years, he has met with many Chinese ambassadors during foreign visits or attending international conferences or ambassadors ’visits to Hong Kong. They all agreed to appreciate the uniqueness of Hong Kong, and promoted the successful practice of "one country, two systems" in their foreign affairs, supported Hong Kong's economic and trade work in their localities, and provided appropriate consular protection and support.

Lin Zhengyue said that this legislative work is of great importance and is imperative. Especially in the face of unreasonable accusations by foreign governments and politicians, the ambassadors will definitely go all out.

"This is what the 1.4 billion people of the country want, and it is also the relationship of more than 7 million people in Hong Kong." Lin Zhengyue said. (Finish)
