Prince Joachim of Belgium, the youngest son of Princess Astrid, is infected with the corona virus. Several Belgian media report this on Saturday after confirmation from the Royal Family.
The news came to light when 28-year-old Joachim visited Córdoba, Spain. An internal government letter published by the Spanish El Confidencial shows that an infected person from Belgium had been present at a reunion attended by 27 people. A number of sources speak of an illegal lockdown party, but that information is not confirmed anywhere.
The reunion of family and friends is said to have taken place on Tuesday. The prince then reportedly showed the first symptoms of COVID-19 on Wednesday and tested positive for the virus on Thursday in Belgium. Where and how he was infected remains unclear.
According to the Belgian VRT , the prince was in Córdoba as part of an internship. He also has a relationship with Victoria Ortiz Martínez-Sagrera, who also lives in the Spanish city.
