The guided tours and virtual workshops, organized by the Culture and Arts Authority in Dubai (Dubai Culture) for the Union Museum through the Dubai 360 website, attracted more than 2,300 students from 14 schools (six government schools and eight private schools), from all over the Emirates, Through them, they were able to get acquainted with reality to the details of the Union Museum, and to draw inspiration from the story of the founding of the state, which is told by the museum. In a move aimed at enhancing the importance of museums to the younger generations in the UAE, and enriching their knowledge about the successful Emirati experience and strengthening their link with the Emirati cultural identity through innovative interactive channels, launched at the end of April this year guided tours and virtual workshops for the Union Museum in Dubai targeting school students in all Throughout the Emirates, through Dubai 360, the largest virtual tour on the Internet to explore the city. This initiative was part of the authority’s efforts to provide an opportunity for Emirati students and residents to visit the Union Museum via the Internet, during the period in which the museums were temporarily closed. In a survey conducted by the commission to solicit the opinions of the participants in the tours, about 96% of the students expressed their satisfaction and happiness with the experiment and its overall efficiency. The initiative played a major role in placing the Union Museum on the list of approved destinations for trips 2020 of the Ministry of Education, during the current conditions and the start of distance education for all state schools. These virtual tours were the first visit of the museum to nearly 80% of the participants. They expressed their desire to visit him, and get to know his details on the ground during the coming period. Dubai Culture added the Shindagha Museum and its other museums in the emirate of Dubai to the virtual tours, all of which will be available through the Dubai 360 website. The initiative provides school students with virtual guided tours that are pre-booked by the school, accompanied by a cultural guide who provides them with a detailed explanation of all departments, and answers any questions they have via virtual meeting platforms, and by using the Dubai 360 website.
