According to the Weibo News of the Propaganda Department of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, the Yunnan Provincial Emergency Management Department reported that at 11:10 on May 29, a suspected explosion occurred at the Sinanjiang Hydropower Station in Mojiang County, Pu'er City. As of 17:00 on May 29, the accident caused a total of 6 deaths and 5 injuries, and the injured are not in danger of life.
After receiving the accident report, Chen Hao, Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, Ruan Chengfa, Deputy Secretary and Governor of the Provincial Party Committee immediately asked Pu'er City and Mojiang County to carry out rescue work to rescue the injured and do a good job; scientific rescue to prevent the occurrence of secondary disaster . At the same time, the Provincial Emergency Management Department is required to strengthen guidance, quickly identify the cause of the accident, effectively implement safety production responsibilities and measures, and pursue accountability according to law. Zong Guoying, member of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and executive vice governor, also put forward requirements for accident rescue and other work.
According to preliminary local information, the Sinanjiang Hydropower Station had a suspected explosion accident during the dredging operation on the dam ventilation tunnel (front of the power station spillway) on the morning of May 29. At present, the on-site rescue work has been completed, and the accident investigation work is being carried out. The Yunnan Provincial Emergency Department and the Provincial Energy Bureau dispatched working teams to the scene to guide the accident disposal.
