Saikyo Line and Shonan Shinjuku Line Saturdays and Sundays are suspended from Shinjuku to Osaki. 6:30 on May 30th due to relocation work.

At JR Shibuya Station, due to the relocation of a platform that enhances the convenience of the Saikyo Line, the Saikyo Line and Shonan Shinjuku Line will be suspended all day between Shinjuku Station and Osaki Station on the 30th and 31st.

Since the Saikyo Line platform at JR Shibuya Station is far from the Yamanote Line and it takes time to change trains, construction has been underway to move the platform to the north side for approximately 350 meters five years ago to bring it closer to the Yamanote Line platform. ..

Before the start of sharing the new home, the last large-scale construction is being carried out from the night of the 29th, and accordingly, on the 30th and the 31st, the Saikyo Line and the Shonan Shinjuku Line, which share the track, are located in Shinjuku Station and Osaki Station. It will be suspended throughout the day.

On these lines, Shinjuku Station and Osaki Station will each turn back, and direct trains such as private railways will be canceled, and some limited express trains will be canceled or the departure and arrival stations will be changed.

On the other hand, the Yamanote Line, which runs on another track, will operate normally.

It is expected that the suspension section will be resumed from the first day of the week starting from the first day of the week, and in line with this, the use of a new home on the side of the Yamanote line and the side of the Saikyo line will be started, and it will be directly connected to the Hachiko ticket gate.

JR East is planning to expand the Yamanote Line platform at Shibuya Station and will continue to improve convenience.

Large-scale relocation work for 54 hours

JR Shibuya station is undergoing renovation work from 5 years ago, aiming for completion in 2027. As part of this work, we are relocating the Saikyo Line platform, which had been a challenge to transfer to the Yamanote Line.

When the Saikyo Line platform was completed in 1996, there was no space near the Yamanote Line platform, so it was installed on the site of the freight station, but it takes about 5 minutes to transfer to the Yamanote Line.

However, because the platform on the Tokyu Toyoko Line went underground in 2013, we were able to secure new space. The new home of the Saikyo Line has already been completed on the north side of the current platform, about 350 meters, and the construction started from the night of the 29th is being changed so that the tracks will pass to the new platform.

Since the new home is one meter higher than it is now, the switching process involves the unusual process of lifting and moving the tracks.

In addition, work is being done to directly connect the new platform to the south ticket gates of Shibuya Station and the Hachiko ticket gate, and to construct the current Saikyo Line platform as a connecting passageway to the new south ticket gates.

The construction will start on the night of the 29th and will last for approximately 54 hours until around 4am on the 1st, and the new Saikyo Line platform will be available from the first day of the day.

According to JR East, the Yamanote Line platform will be expanded in the future, and the inner and outer tracks will be consolidated into one platform, and details will be announced as soon as it is decided.
