Corona discharge “Time after symptom” is new standard PCR confirmation May 19:28 on May 29th

The criteria for discharge of hospitalized patients infected with the new coronavirus will be reviewed. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has decided not to require the confirmation of negative PCR tests, which has been necessary up to now, as a new standard, based on the passage of time after the onset of symptoms.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare had previously sought to confirm the criteria for when hospitalized patients infected with the novel coronavirus were discharged from the hospital more than twice after the symptoms became mild and confirmed to be consecutively negative. .

However, domestic and foreign studies have shown that the risk of infecting other people is considered to be low after about 10 days from the onset, so in the future, the passage of time from the onset of symptoms will be the new standard. I decided to do it.

According to the new standard, if 14 days have passed since the onset of the disease and 72 hours have passed since the symptom became less severe, discharge is admitted, and in principle, confirmation of a negative PCR test is not required.

On the other hand, if the symptoms go away 10 days after the onset of the disease, the patient will be asked to confirm the negative PCR test as before.

In addition, for medical treatment of mildly ill patients at accommodation facilities, until now, it could be canceled without going through the PCR test only when there was an obstacle to the medical system, but the new standard makes the test unnecessary in all cases. , 14 days after the onset of symptoms, and 72 hours after the symptom was alleviated.
