On May 29, eight giant pandas were transferred from the Qingcheng Mountain Base of Dujiangyan, China Giant Panda Conservation Research Center of Sichuan Province, to Phoenix Chinese Giant Panda Garden, Hunan Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. The transshipped giant panda is transported by refrigerated truck. In order to ensure the health, safety and diet of the giant panda during transportation, the vehicle must rest for half an hour after every 3 to 4 hours of driving. The panda will undergo a health check and feeding and water care. It is estimated that the transfer will take more than 1,000 kilometers and it will take about 15 hours. During the transportation process, the giant panda management personnel guard the whole process, strictly protect, track and record in time to ensure the safety of the giant panda's itinerary. Fenghuang County has a mild climate, distinct seasons, and sufficient sunlight. The county has a bamboo resource area of more than 50,000 mu.
