Natural disasters such as mudslides and landslides occurred on the ground, causing 1 death and 4 disappearances.
According to reports, as of 15:00 on May 28, Gongshan County had 1 person killed, 4 missing, and 2 injured. A total of 147 natural disasters such as landslides and mudslides occurred. More than 5,300 people were affected, and 1992 emergency resettlement. Among them, 1041 stranded tourists have been properly resettled. The road traffic, communications, and power in the county were severely damaged.
After the disaster, the local party committee, government, and cadres and the masses carried out rescue and relief efforts. Up to now, the communication of Gongshan County has been restored. The destroyed road from Liuku to Gongshan County of National Highway 219 has been rushed through. The traffic from Gongshan County to Deqin County in Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is still interrupted, and the related emergency work is still in progress.
At present, Dulongjiang Township, the main settlement area of the Dulong ethnic group in China, is still in a state of power failure and network disconnection, and the road to the county town and each village group of the township government has been interrupted. A total of 385 tourists stranded in Dulongjiang Township have been properly resettled and reported to their families via satellite phone.
