He wanted to rent a cottage this summer in Brittany. But when the owner learned that he was from Alsace, he saw red and refused to let him. This is the mishap that occurred to Jacques Lindecker who told his troubles to the newspaper L'Alsace and to France Bleu . "I had made a trip as part of my work in the Brocéliande forest and I really liked the area, I wanted to introduce the place to loved ones," he explains.

“So I found a rental, a charming cottage in the small village of Saint-Guyomard in Morbihan. I called the owner and we had a great contact, frank, direct, very good ”, continues the novelist and literary columnist. "But when I then sent him a confirmation email, I told him with a smile that between Alsatians and Bretons we had links and that I was delighted to come and discover his region," he adds.

"A crime of facies, almost racism"

"And there, he replied that after discussion with his wife, as we live in the red zone, he no longer wished to comply with my request, that it represented a danger for his children and that the safety of their families and families occupying their lodging was a priority ”, laments Jacques Lindecker.

"It is discrimination, misdemeanor, almost racism ... It bothers me a lot this fear that goes into delusions, it becomes counterproductive, it separates us", he still regrets. Jacques Lindecker, however, wants to "not generalize" and this regular from Brittany has easily found another location.
