The Nordic ministers of culture have decided to provide extra support for cooperation between the Nordic countries by donating funds to the cultural and arts program Nordic Culture Contact. It was during a digital meeting on cultural life during the corona crisis that the ministers made the decision, says Joy Mogensen, Minister of Culture in Denmark.
Corresponds to SEK 4.2 million“I am very pleased that we as Nordic culture ministers have agreed to give an extra financial boost to keep Nordic culture alive during covid-19. Art and culture are so important for connecting our communities. With these extra funds, artists and art projects can receive support for collaborations and networks, ”she says in a press release.
Funds from Nordic cultural contacts will be distributed in the autumn's regular application round, which opens in August. The extra support amounts to 3 million Danish kronor, corresponding to about 4.2 million Swedish.
