Some 183 students were the subject, on Saturday, of a collective screening following a positive case of Covid-19 reported in a university residence of Tours, according to the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Center-Val-de -Loire.

"Following the report of a first positive case in a student at the Grandmont residence in Tours (May 17), five students, identified as close contacts, tested positive for Covid-19" on Thursday, said on Saturday, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Center-Val-de-Loire. Some 183 students were screened collectively following a positive coronavirus case reported in a university residence in Tours.

"Confined in their room, awaiting results"

The results of the epidemiological investigation led to "initiate a collective screening concerning the 183 students of three buildings of the residence", indicates the health agency. The screening was organized "on site" on Saturday by the ARS, with the mobile teams of the CHRU of Tours and the Crous and will continue "if necessary this weekend to be able to screen all the students concerned", specifies l 'Agency.

"The students located in the three buildings of the university residence remain confined to their rooms, pending the results of their tests," said the ARS. They are paid for by the prefecture of Indre-et-Loire and Crous, which in particular provide meals.

The five close contacts, and a sixth tested on Saturday whose results are expected, have been placed in isolation according to the agency. They have been relocated by Crous Orléans-Tours and are monitored by the university health service.
