John David Washington in Christopher Nolan's "Tenet" - Warner Bros.

Christopher Nolan plays (again) over time. Often in his filmography, the director had fun stretching, distorting and turning the past, the present and the future, whether in Memento , Inception or Interstellar . Rebelote with Tenet , his next feature film, which will immerse spectators in the world of espionage and the inversion of space-time, in which the characters will try to prevent a third world war.

In the casting, we will find John David Washington, son of Denzel Washington, already seen in BlacKkKlansman , but also Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki and Clémence Poésy. The director described this film as "the most ambitious of [his] career" and put the means into it. With a budget of $ 200 million, the shooting took place in seven countries around the world, including Estonia, Italy, Ireland and India.

Expected release July 22 (for now)

If the releases of Christopher Nolan's feature films are still an event, the British filmmaker has additional weight on his shoulders this year. Marked by the coronavirus crisis, the film industry is counting on the release of blockbusters to get their heads out of the water.

Scheduled to be screened from July 17, 2020 in the United States and July 22, France, the trailer of Tenet  does not indicate a release date. For that, it will be necessary to wait to know the date of reopening of the cinemas, scheduled for "early July" according to Franck Riester.
