Teaching competitions, such as Capes or Aggreg, will take place between June 16 and mid-July, the Ministry of Education has decided. While the competition schedule usually spanned 4 to 5 months, it had to be tightened due to the coronavirus epidemic.

The ministry specifies that certain tests will be arranged and that very strict rules have been defined for their conduct "both written and oral, ensuring the health and safety of candidates".

Admissibility tests started before confinement "will go ahead"

In mid-April, the Minister of Education Jean-Michel Blanquer had already announced that for the competitions which had not started, the papers would constitute admission tests with an oral statement of tenure a year later. This is the case for most of the Capes, he said.

The competitions which have started, that is to say, the admissibility tests of which have already taken place before confinement, "will be completed". But "for certain admission tests, the progress of which will be incompatible with health constraints, arrangements are envisaged in conjunction with the presidents of the juries", specifies the ministry.

The oral exams for internal competitions postponed to the start of the September 2020 academic year

With regard to internal competitions, the candidates are, for the most part, already in post within the Ministry of National Education. The decision was therefore made to "postpone the oral exams until the start of the new school year in September 2020".

The invitations to the tests will be sent "as soon as possible to the candidates to provide them with any additional useful information", adds the press release.

79 contests postponed

Some 256,377 candidates presented themselves this year for 29,438 positions offered in internal and external competitions for the recruitment of teaching professions, management personnel, personnel of inspection bodies, principal educational advisers (CPE) and psychologists of the 'National Education.

In all, out of 136 external competitions and 90 internal competitions planned, 79 were postponed due to the epidemic of new coronavirus.
