The Third Session of the Thirteenth National People's Congress will consider the "Decision of the National People's Congress on Establishing and Improving the Legal System and Enforcement Mechanism of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to Maintain National Security (Draft)". Our CPPCC National Committee members expressed firm support and support.

After the reunification, the Hong Kong SAR has obvious legal loopholes in safeguarding national security. Since the "amendments", the Hong Kong opposition collaborated with external forces to wreak havoc, the radical forces of Hong Kong independence have become increasingly rampant, and violent terrorist activities have escalated, severely damaging the rule of law and economic and livelihood of Hong Kong, and jeopardizing national sovereignty, security and development interests. Without national security, there would be no prosperity and stability in Hong Kong. In the event of serious threats to national security and the absence of relevant laws, it is imperative for the central government to resolve Hong Kong ’s outstanding problems in maintaining national security.

Hong Kong-related national security legislation is aimed at actions that severely endanger national security, such as splitting the country, subverting regimes, terrorism, and foreign intervention, and will have no impact on the rights and freedoms of the vast majority of law-abiding citizens. We call on the general public of Hong Kong to support this national legislation for common well-being and ensure that "one country, two systems" will be stable and long-term.
