On May 22, the opening meeting of the Third Session of the Thirteenth National People's Congress was held in the Great Hall of the People. On behalf of the State Council, Premier Li Keqiang made a government work report to the Third Session of the 13th NPC. On the same day, Yang Weimin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and deputy director of the CPPCC Economic Committee, was interviewed by the media during the online video interview. When asked why this government work report did not propose the annual economic growth target, Yang Weimin said that this is indeed one of the characteristics of this government work report. He pointed out that China's economic work has two commonly used principles, namely goal-oriented and problem-oriented. The reason why the annual economic growth target is not proposed is mainly determined according to the principle of problem-oriented. He believes that the current Chinese economy has been hit by the epidemic, and the epidemic is still prevalent globally. It is difficult to predict the future trend. Yang Weimin pointed out that as far as the current situation is concerned, compared with China's GDP growth, "six guarantees" such as job security, people's livelihood, and market players are more important.
