INTERVIEW

He revived the game of boxes, broadcast on TF1 in the 2000s, and presented at the time by Arthur. Guest of Europe 1, Thursday, Cyril Hanouna told why he was so keen to relaunch Take or leave on C8. Since May 18, the program has been very successful, and the star presenter of the private channel has even told Europe 1 that the bosses of C8 are thinking about a possible continuation of the show at the start of the school year.

"It was my favorite game, it always has been"

"It was a dream for me! It was my favorite game, it always has been," said Cyril Hanouna, guest of the show  Ça fait du bie n, Thursday on Europe 1. "It's a game which is made for the players: there are no questions, and even if you are not very cultivated like me, you can earn a lot of money. "

The principle of the game is simple. Each candidate has a box, with a number ranging from 1 to 24. In each box, sums of money are distributed at random: only the bailiff who made the distribution, and the banker know the contents of the boxes. These amounts are between € 0.05 and € 100,000. At the start of each program, a draw determines which candidate can play. The candidate drawn by lot joins the presenter in the center of the board, then opens the boxes of the other candidates one by one. The candidate wins the sum of money contained in his own box. "It's not like in Questions for a champion where you can stay eight years, and leave at the end with two encyclopedias," laughs Cyril Hanouna. "Me, I just choose boxes, and you leave with 250,000 euros".

"It would hurt us to stop at the start of the school year"

"I am fully into the game, it is a dream, in addition I live live," he continues, adding that a different scenario is written each evening. And the recipe seems to be working. "The audiences are very good," enthuses the presenter, noting that the chain has taken risks by launching a live broadcast at the end of containment, when "people want to go out".

The program is so popular that discussions could soon take place to reflect on the future of the game. In any case, Cyril Hanouna told Europe 1 on Thursday. "It works so well that with the bosses of C8, we thought it would be painful to stop at the start of the school year: we are thinking about it."
