“During confinement, the rule was the strict ban on moving. People are now free to move around, but around their place of residence, ”says Place Beauvau. The police will have to ask the people checked for proof of address to ensure that they are indeed within 100 km of their home, especially if they have left their department.
Otherwise, they incur a fine of 135 euros, 200 euros in the event of a repeat offense. Since May 11, about 200,000 checks have been carried out and 950 fines issued, said Wednesday on BFMTV the Secretary of State for Transport, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari.
Seven patterns allowed
To travel a distance of more than 100 km, "people must have a good reason," adds the entourage of the Minister of the Interior, adding that they must be able to present the travel declaration available on the ministry's website. Among them, trips between home and a school, professional trips "which cannot be postponed", those "for health consultation and specialized care that cannot be provided remotely", or those "for compelling family reasons" .

"If people getting off the train do not have a certificate, it will be easy to see that they are more than 100 km from their home," blows a police source, stressing that the officials will be able to use their judgment in depending on the situations encountered.
For its part, the national gendarmerie will be very present along the national roads and near motorway tolls.
