Anne-Sophie Lapix's journal launched a new sequence entitled "Destination France" on Tuesday. This TV version of the Backpacker's Guide will accompany the French during the deconfinement and invite them to discover the beautiful regions of France. Ideas for walks, nature ... Agnès Molinier, the editor-in-chief of 8 p.m. tells us more.

Anne-Sophie Lapix's newspaper launched a new sequence called "Destination France" on Tuesday evening, which should return two to three times a week. A new format which should allow France 2 to support the French during this period of deconfinement and therefore make them discover France. A sort of TV version of the Routard Guide, in short. A definition validated by Agnès Molinier, the editor-in-chief of 20 heures de France 2.

"There is a strong need for escape"

"We will try to find destinations that are very often known to people who live in the regions concerned. These are ideas for walks, especially in nature and the great outdoors, because I think there is a great need for 'escape', details Agnès Molinier.

For the editor of 8 p.m., this new meeting of the newspaper is also a way of drawing the consequences of the health crisis. "Perhaps some will say that we no longer had a 'foreign' DNA. It is true that we are more likely, too, to explain the world," she acknowledges. "But it turns out that today, a lot has happened locally. People were first forced to stay at home. And suddenly, they also discovered that the local had charm, whether in terms of food or consumption. And they will also have to look around them a bit because they have no choice either, for now ... "

"There is room for all genres"

This "Destination France" is the latest in a series of formats that France 2 likes to use to vary its evening newspapers. Among them, we know the oldest, like "The eye at 8 pm", "Dans ma rue", "CQFD" or "Plein cadre". And now, Anne-Sophie Lapix wants to rediscover France to her viewers.

But wouldn't this new sequence work on the beds of a certain Jean Pierre Pernaut? "He is the king in his category at 1 p.m. and in his newspaper style", assures Agnès Molinier. "We are kings in a different style. We try to see a little bit in all directions, whether far or near," she explains. "Far away, we continue. Just yesterday we tried to see how the end in the world could be made worse by the Covid. And at the same time, we are preparing to give people ideas to go on vacation in France. I think there is room for all genres. "
