Coronavirus positive cases are increasing in slaughterhouses. At Fleury-les-Aubrais in the Loiret, a “cluster” of Covid-19 was confirmed over the weekend with the announcement of 34 positive cases among employees. The Kerméné slaughterhouse in Côtes-d'Armor was also affected by the epidemic. Six positive cases had already been detected last week, forcing the Regional Health Agency of Brittany to conduct a major screening campaign on Friday in the food industry located in the commune of Méné.

The results of the tests fell on Sunday and 69 positive cases have now been diagnosed in the Kerméné slaughterhouse, which supplies the Leclerc group's stores with butchery and sausage products. "These people are isolated at home and their follow-up will be provided by ARS Bretagne," said the health authorities in a press release.

A new screening campaign on Tuesday

The teams of the Regional Health Agency and of Health Insurance are now endeavoring to identify "all of their risky contact cases in order to apply the fortnight device for these people, as well as the prescription of a test and sanitary masks ”.

A new complementary screening campaign should also take place on Tuesday with staff. The ARS specifies that "in the meantime", the employees of the slaughterhouse are invited "to strictly respect the barrier measures as well as to limit their social interactions".
