More than 28,000 dead in France, resuscitation still falling 

More than 28,000 people have died from the coronavirus since March 1, including 483 in the past 24 hours, according to the report released Sunday evening by the Ministry of Health. This daily toll is the most important in recent weeks and is mainly due to deaths in nursing homes and other medico-social establishments (+429 compared to Saturday, against +54 in hospital), bringing the total number of deaths to 28,108. 

On the other hand, hospitalizations and admissions to intensive care continue to decline. 2,087 patients with a severe form of Covid-19 are in intensive care, compared to 2,776 a week ago. 24 new serious cases were admitted there (against 38 a week ago). If we take discharges into account, the difference remains negative in intensive care, with 45 fewer patients compared to Saturday. Since the start of the epidemic, 98,569 people have been hospitalized, including nearly 17,500 in intensive care. More than 61,000 returned home cured.

Some of the colleges reopen 

A week after primary and nursery schools, colleges in the areas most affected by the epidemic reopen on Monday. There must be around 150,000 young people in grades 6 and 5 to find their teachers at the start of the week, but only in the green zones established by the government (85% of secondary schools in France, or 4,000 establishments). The reopening or not of the colleges of the four regions in the red zone (Ile-de-France, Hauts-de-France, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Grand Est) and Mayotte must be decided at the end of the month, like that of the high schools. 

"Cluster": tests continue in the slaughterhouse near Orléans 

More than a hundred people were positive Sunday at Covid-19 in two "clusters" within two slaughterhouses, one near Orleans and the other near Saint-Brieuc, health officials said on Sunday. In the Loiret, some 400 employees of a slaughterhouse in Fleury-lès-Aubrais, where 34 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed, without serious cases, who will be screened by Tuesday, according to the ARS Center /Loire valley. At least 313,000 deaths worldwide

The pandemic has killed at least 313,611 people worldwide since its onset in December in China, according to an assessment by AFP from official sources on Sunday. The United States, which recorded its first death linked to the coronavirus in early February, is the country most affected in terms of number of deaths and cases, with 89,207 deaths for 1,478,241 cases. At least 268,376 people were declared cured.

After the United States, the most affected countries are the United Kingdom with 34,636 deaths for 243,303 reported cases, Italy with 31,908 deaths (225,435 cases), France with 28,108 deaths (179,569 cases), and Spain with 27,650 dead (231,350 cases).
