He was 55 and almost as much stage experience. Judge Kenneth Peterson, his real name, lived a childhood bathed in music. He was born in Buffalo, near New York, to a guitarist father and owner of a blues club. From an early age, he frequented many musicians like Muddy Waters or Buddy Guy.

He was five when he performed for the first time on the organ. As a child prodigy, Lucky Peterson then goes on to appearances and performances on TV sets. He accompanies many organ artists, including Mavis Staples and Bootsy Collins.

The embodiment of a plural blues

Later, he switched to the guitar, his second favorite instrument, the third being his cavernous voice. Lucky Peterson embodied a plural blues, with seasoned pieces of jazz, R&B and rock.

He had twenty albums to his credit. His latest album, called 50 Just Warming Up! , came out a year ago to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Fifty years, which was, in his eyes, just a warm-up.
