No degradation, but an arrest for "offense" and 49 fourth-class tickets for "participation in a prohibited demonstration". This is the outcome of this first Saturday of deconfinement in Toulouse, which saw scattered groups of "yellow vests" resume their actions in the city center after two months of interruption.

Scheduled at the beginning of the afternoon in front of the Purpan hospital, a rally of "yellow vests" was finally canceled. Sud Santé and the CGT of the Toulouse University Hospital dissociated themselves from this call, after a first joint demonstration on Monday, deeming it “counterproductive” for the claims of caregivers.

Mayor Jean-Luc Moudenc in support of traders

Dozens of traders also demonstrated in the city center, with the support of Mayor LR Jean-Luc Moudenc. "The challenge is to let us get a health, let us work, not to scare customers," said Jean-Marc Martinez, president of the Federation of merchants of Toulouse at the origin of the action.

Tense verbal exchanges opposed them to “yellow vests” and anti-capitalist activists. The police, deployed in large numbers, then asked for the dispersal of the various demonstrators, in accordance with a prefectural order issued on Thursday to prohibit any gathering on the public highway of more than 10 people.
