At 6:46 on May 16, the command center of the Guilin City Fire Brigade received an alarm saying that 13 people near Lujiang Village Committee, Sanjie Town, Lingchuan County were besieged by the accumulated water. The water flow on the scene was turbulent and the water level kept rising. 14 commanders from the water rescue team of the Gantang Fire Rescue Station in Lingchuan County, Guilin City, Guangxi rushed to the scene with water rescue equipment such as rubber boats and life jackets.
At 7:40, after on-site observation and questioning of the nearby villagers, it was learned that the deepest part of the river was 7 meters. Rescuers had to go through 8 wading sections to reach the trapped people. The rain continued and the water was turbulent. The rescue of the boat is very difficult, and the operation of the life-saving thrower is difficult, and the rescue was once in a stalemate.
