The Eurovision Song Contest will still be organized in Rotterdam next year. The broadcasters NPO, AVROTROS and NOS announced this on Saturday evening during the TV show Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light.
The final should have taken place in the city on Saturday evening, but was canceled due to the corona virus. The European Broadcast Union (EBU) therefore wanted to know before the end of the month whether the Netherlands would still be the host country for the song festival in 2021.
At the end of April, Rotterdam had already indicated that it would like to host the Eurovision Song Contest next year.
Jeangu Macrooy will also represent the Netherlands at the edition in 2021. He will not be performing his entry this year, Glow. The organization of the song festival announced at the end of March on Twitter that the songs with which all artists would participate in the postponed Eurovision Song Contest are excluded from participation in 2021.
