Norwegian singer Ulrikke Brandstorp will not participate next year

Norwegian singer Ulrikke Brandstorp, who would represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam this year, has announced on her Instagram that she does not want to participate again next year. Her country has chosen to organize a new national competition again next year to give other artists the opportunity to qualify. Brandstorp would have a final spot in this, but she doesn't want that.

"I fully understand that Eurovision 2020 has been canceled due to the coronavirus," she writes, "but I hoped that Norway, like other countries, would support its artist by sending me back to the festival in 2021. I am very disappointed with this decision. I declined the final place in MGP because I only want to be in the final because I write a good song, not because I can't go to the Eurovision song contest this year. "

Jeg er derfor naturlig rok skuffet about NRK sin decision i day at å kjøre and ordinær MGP-sesong neste år.
