New deadline for stays abroad. French tour operators announced on Friday that they would postpone all departures until June 26 due to border closures linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Thursday, the government announced that the French could go on vacation to France in July and August, despite the epidemic, but uncertainty remains about the reopening of borders, inside Europe as elsewhere.

Adaptation in the event of border reopening

"Given the health situation and the inevitable and exceptional circumstances which impose travel restrictions, all departures until Friday, June 26, 2020 inclusive are postponed," said the Seto union, which represents most of the tours, in a press release. - French operators.

He specifies that this provision could be "adapted according to the possibilities of reopening of destinations". Last year alone, the tour operators who are members of Seto (some 70 players, including TUI France, Voyageurs du Monde, Kuoni, Costa Croisières, etc.) transported 6.3 million customers. The very first restriction due to the epidemic had been issued on January 26 by Seto, and concerned organized trips to China.
