Ukraine will purchase three large quantities of weapons from the United States. At first glance, the news leads to a certain sensational implication. In fact, these purchases are carried out annually on a pre-agreed delivery roadmap. Washington annually allocates at least about $ 250 million to modernize the Ukrainian army - these are the so-called open events that can be tracked by all sources available. But even for transparent schemes, the amount is rather big. What does she leave for?
In previous years, for example, Kiev actively purchased Javelin missile systems and Barrett sniper rifles. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the following nuances: the Ukrainian military receives, as a rule, either already written-off samples, or whose expiration date is coming to an end. Rifles also come to the Ukrainian front by no means from the front shelves. On international smuggling slang, this is called a “second hand weapon”. Only in the case of Ukraine is there an additional irony: Kiev purchases obsolete weapons with money borrowed from its owners.
Washington in these schemes with legal arms trafficking in Eastern Europe acts as the sole beneficiary. Discarded weapons are utilized by smaller brothers who are ready to take multi-million dollar loans for these purposes, supposedly meeting the tasks of modernizing the armed forces. Does this kind of transaction mean absolutely safe for the civilian population of Donbass and generally the Southeast? No, such a statement would be erroneous.
You can argue for a long time about the quality of weapons delivered from the USA to Ukraine, talk about corruption schemes, but the fact remains: the Donbass frontline is permanently pumped up with weapons. Contrary to the agreements reached between Moscow and Washington a few years ago. The Russian president then besieged the Americans, making it clear that if the United States began direct supplies of lethal weapons to Kiev, this would give the Donbass republics the right to arm their supporters in other troubled regions of the country. That is, in fact, the official authorities of Nezalezhnaya and their overseas curators thus demonstrate interest in the development of the partisan movement in the areas controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Their interest is understandable. More chaos - more money. Thus, one of the main tasks of pumping up the Donbass front-line weapons by the Americans is not to allow the situation to go on a peaceful track, to maintain the necessary degree of military confrontation, which allows negotiating new preferences on international platforms. This is the first and common goal.
If we consider the situation more specifically, we can say that one of the local tasks associated with future US supplies is to strengthen the sea direction.
As part of new contracts, Kiev is going to acquire decommissioned US military boats, which will be deployed at bases in Mariupol and Odessa. Thus, the Ukrainian authorities and their American curators make it clear that they are going to create new tension zones in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
That is, the tactics chosen by the Ukrainian command with the support of foreign instructors, which was used in the Kerch Strait, are likely to have been adopted - and there is every reason to expect new provocations from official Kiev on the sea. Why does this seem promising to the NATO curators who were directly involved in the development of such operations? Everything is very simple: it is at sea that the Ukrainian military can try to directly encounter the Russian military presence - from the point of view of public relations on international platforms, this is much more profitable and convincing than creating controversial situations in the same Donbass, where an enlightened European will even think about taking it on faith words about "aggression of the Russian Federation", which supposedly opposes the APU, or not.
Another thing is a clash at sea, similar to the Kerch one. Here you can clearly accuse the Russian security forces of all the troubles of the Independent and direct aggression against Ukrainian sovereignty. Given that Kiev will receive decommissioned boats from the United States, one still cannot speak of full-scale hostilities at sea. It is pointless and useless. But to use American boats as shell ducks - why not. That is, according to my personal forecasts, new arms purchases are made mainly with a bias in sabotage work.
It is both bad and good at the same time. On the one hand, we can say with a certain degree of certainty that a large-scale war in the Donbass is hardly possible right now. On the other hand, it’s time to wait for various kinds of villainies, frauds and provocations in other Ukrainian areas, the purpose of which will be the maximum involvement of Russia in an artificially created conflict situation.
The only good news is that, as experience shows, the Russian special forces in the event of provocations in their native waters works quickly and hard. But delicately.
