The local meteorological agency has been calling for caution against sediment-related disasters, inundation of low-lying land, and flooding of rivers, as it may rain very heavily locally in the afternoon on the 16th.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, warm and moist air flows toward the front extending to western Japan, and the atmospheric conditions become unstable, causing rain clouds to develop in Kyushu. We observed heavy rain of 39.5 mm in Fukase in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture , and 38.5 mm in Minamishimabara City, Nagasaki Prefecture
in one hour until 5 am . Also, in Kagoshima Prefecture, extremely heavy rains fell in various areas around the dawn on the 16th, and 74 mm of rain was observed in Yoshigabeppu, Kanaya City, one hour before 2:00 am. Due to the stagnation of the front line, heavy rain accompanied by lightning will occur in the afternoon of 16th in Kyushu, and there is a possibility of extremely heavy rain of 50 to 70 mm per hour locally. The amount of rainfall in the 24 hours until the morning of the 17th is expected to be 200 mm in the southern part of Kyushu and 150 mm in the northern part of Kyushu , where there is a lot of rain . The Japan Meteorological Agency cautions against sediment-related disasters, inundation of low-lying land and flooding of rivers, and calls for sufficient caution against thunderstorms and tornadoes.
