Guest of "Sans Rendez-vous" this Friday, the hypnosis practitioner Léonard Anthony explains why this big aborted party that was to be deconfinement has finally become a source of frustration for many French people.

INTERVIEW

We imagined it as the party of the year. Long awaited by the French after two months confined to home, the start of deconfinement was to be the turning point of a new period, that in which the coronavirus is behind us. Engraved in the minds, the date of May 11 should have looked like a big party, but it is nothing: cafes, bars, restaurants and nightclubs are always closed, barrier gestures and physical distance are omnipresent in public space.

As for the deconfinement map put in place by the government, it reminds everyone that the Covid-19 is still circulating on the territory. Without forgetting that the Ministry of Health continues to shine every night the number of new French victims, giving a prominent media place to death. In short, the atmosphere is not really festive, and there emerges a feeling of "frustration", as explained on Friday in " Sans Rendez-vous " the hypnosis practitioner and management specialist. fatigue, Léonard Anthony.

"We expected something strong, but it is nothing"

"We all wondered if there was going to be a fireworks" to celebrate the deconfinement. "A bit like at the Liberation on the Champs-Élysées, there had to be drink, and we all had to kiss. But there, we don't even use our hands" and we wear masks, recalls he. "So there is frustration because we expected something strong, but it is nothing." Worse, the government hammering that telework must remain a priority for businesses, May 11 is turning into a non-event for many French people.

"Regained freedom is not that easy to appropriate"

"It's like a bird in a cage: when you open it, it doesn't fly away right away, it takes a while", analyzes Leonard Anthony. "Recovered freedom is not that easy to appropriate." Especially since after two months of confinement, it is "our whole cognitive system that needs to get used to it", specifies the specialist. A process more or less long depending on the people who can explain why some people do not take advantage of "everything that is now possible to do", like walking around more often.

Fortunately, Leonard Anthony delivers his tip to speed up this return to reality a little: "Accept your frustration, allow yourself time, and be forgiving with yourself."
