"The French will be able to go on vacation to France in July and August", launched Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, this Thursday noon. In response, the SNCF reopens reservations for TGV or Intercités tickets for the summer holidays this Friday. Until June 2, it will only sell one seat out of two on its trains.

Tickets will be exchangeable or refundable free of charge, just in case. Edouard Philippe has indeed evoked "possible very localized restrictions" depending on the evolution of the Covid-19 epidemic.

In fact, the SNCF had opened its reservations for July and August on March 10, a few days before the start of confinement. But it has since had to significantly reduce the airfoil - with currently 35% of TGV and Intercités - and is only selling one seat out of two to comply with the rules of distance.

It is currently planning to circulate 100% of the TGV and Intercity trains planned for this summer, subject to government restrictions. “Today, the French have hardly prepared their trips. There are still lots and lots of places, ”announces the CEO of SNCF Voyageurs, Christophe Fanichet.
