Emmanuel Macron met this Thursday afternoon with doctors of the future of hospitals and care services, in the light of the coronavirus crisis, said the Elysee. The head of state will also receive economists on Friday to discuss "the economic and social consequences of the crisis," announced the presidency.

With the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, Emmanuel Macron "wished to exchange with doctors" on questions that concern "the hospital world", according to the Elysée. He talks with some of the doctors who signed a column entitled "Let’s free the hospital from the bureaucratic scourge" published on May 3 by Le Figaro . These twenty doctors, teaching in the faculties of medicine and practicing in the public hospital, presented there the principles which should guide them according to the "renewal of the hospital".

Caregivers tired of red tape

A few weeks earlier, during a trip by Emmanuel Macron to the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital on April 9, in the Paris suburbs, caregivers "had echoed the capacity they had had to find solutions , to break down the administrative boundaries which normally prevent them from working and have expressed this emulation which they hope to find after the crisis. ”

"This is the purpose of the exchange: to learn from this crisis and their ability to collectively find solutions," added the presidency, adding that it was the "beginning of the process".
