At 09:47 on May 11, the command center of the Fuzhou Fire Rescue Detachment received an alarm, and a freighter in the water of Jinmen Gate in Langqi Town, Mawei District caught fire.

The on-going freighter floated in the middle of the water in the water of the Jinmen Gate in Langqi Town, and the fire was fierce at the scene. Firefighters immediately carried toxic and flammable gas monitors, thermometers, ranging telescopes and other equipment, and took a maritime department emergency vessel close to the fire freighter for fire investigation. After preliminary investigation, it was found that the fire tanker was a steel oil tanker. Due to the fire in the engine room, it ignited part of the diesel fuel carried in the cargo tank, making it more difficult to extinguish and rescue on site.

According to the situation at the scene, the full-service headquarters decided to cooperate with the maritime department first to drag the burning vessel to the shore before extinguishing the fire. At 16:05, the fire tug successfully pulled the burning vessel to the dock to fix it. Fire and rescue personnel who had been on standby at the pier quickly used foam water tankers to produce three foam tube guns and sprayed water-forming foam into the fire area to extinguish the fire. After nearly 30 minutes of hard fighting, the open fire was successfully extinguished. After the cooling and cooling confirmed that there was no possibility of re-ignition, the scene was transferred to the marine police for disposal.

It is understood that the fire freighter is an unnamed ship, carrying about 100 tons of diesel on board. There were no casualties at the scene, and the cause of the fire is still under further investigation.
