The reporter learned from Gongbei Customs on May 12 that on the first day of the implementation of the new measure, about 7,000 exempted laborers entered Zhuhai through various ports. On the same day, coincided with the resumption of classes by Macao junior high school students, the gate customs of Gongbei Customs took pre-plan measures to respond in advance to ensure the safe and orderly clearance of passengers. With the increase in the number of exempt persons who have completed information registration and nucleic acid testing, Gongbei Customs expects that there will be a further increase in the number of mainland laborers who will travel between Zhuhai and Macao in the future.
Gongbei Customs reminded passengers to complete the electronic health declaration and generate a QR code before arriving at the port. Presenting the QR code for verification on the spot can quickly pass through, which can reduce the length of stay on site and is safe and efficient. The customs also stated that it will jointly organize relevant intermediaries with the Chinese-funded (Macau) Employment Agencies Association to organize a health declaration briefing to further improve the efficiency of customs clearance for laborers.
