One to two months of precipitation in 36 hours

More than the violence of the precipitation, it is the duration of the sustained rains as well as their geographic extension which make the exceptional character of the rainy event, explained Météo France. Forecast quantities could reach one to two months of precipitation in 36 hours in places.
