“We are and will always remain loyal to freedom of expression. Tumblr is a place where you can be yourself and voice your opinions, "said site officials. “Hate speech is not conducive to this. […] This is not the kind of Tumblr we want, ”wrote the company.

Among the posts deleted following a change in policy, the majority praised Nazism or white supremacism. Most of the accounts concerned were already identified by the moderators of the platform. "In the future, we will evaluate all blogs suspended for hate speech, and consider mass deletion if necessary," said Tumblr.
In December 2018, the social network had already decided to ban adult content, that is to say in which appeared sexual images, videos, gifs or illustrations. The social network wants, little by little, to acquire the status of a benevolent site.
