The Montpellier tram is wearing a mask to remind people of the need to protect themselves and others during this period of deconfinement. - TaM

  • Several trains of the Montpellier tram are dressed in a mask to remind of the compulsory protection measures in public transport during the deconfinement.
  • Access to public transport is severely limited, many seats are condemned.
  • On buses, it is no longer possible to buy your ticket from the driver.

At each major event organized in the metropolis, the Montpellier tramway is customized to the colors of the event. Several trains in circulation now wear a mask. The goal is to remember that wearing a mask is mandatory in public transport in Montpellier to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.

Since Monday, day of deconfinement, many TaM agents remind passengers of the obligation to respect barrier gestures and wear the mask inside the trains. From Wednesday, the controls will harden and the agents will be able to draw up the first minutes (in the amount of 135 euros).

It is no longer possible to buy tickets on buses

One seat out of two is condemned in the trains (by stickers) and the number of passengers per train greatly reduced. Markings are installed on the platforms to indicate the queues, and in the trains to invite passengers to put space between them. The tram doors now open automatically so that you no longer have to press buttons. Traffic will resume at a faster rate, every 5 minutes on line 1, every 7 minutes on line 2.

In buses, the climb is now exclusively from the rear, to allow drivers to benefit from a protected space at the front of the bus. It will no longer be possible to buy your ticket directly from the driver. As a result, TaM invites travelers to buy it on a smartphone or at the terminals.
