The Primavera Sound Festival has announced today that, due to the evolution of the Covid-19 health crisis, it is suspending this year's edition and announces that it will celebrate its 20th anniversary from June 2 to 6, 2021.

In what it defines as "the most difficult decision in its history", the organization of Primavera Sound has explained that all the tickets already acquired will be valid for the 2021 edition , and that they can also be requested to be reimbursed from the next Wednesday, June 3.

That same day the first artists of Primavera Sound 2021 will be announced, whose poster will continue to celebrate the festival's 20th anniversary with the #bestfestivalforever philosophy, according to the organization.

This Monday, the organization of the Work On Sunday (WOS) festival has also announced that it will not hold its 2020 edition, scheduled for the second week of September in Santiago de Compostela, given the prospects for the evolution of the coronavirus crisis.

On Friday it was Sónar, also from Barcelona, ​​that announced the cancellation of this year's edition. Despite the suspension, the organization assured that it is still active and that an extraordinary edition of Sónar + D will be held on September 18 and 19 at the Center for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB), the space where it was born and grew up.

Last week the suspension of the Castell de Peralada Festival (Girona) was also announced, scheduled from July 2 to August 15, due to the health crisis caused by Covid-19.

Others like La Mar de Musicas or Viña Rock had been canceled before.
