MUSIC

I would like to start with music, because it is one of my great passions. For me, one of the greats is undoubtedly Jordi Savall. I have all his discography. I am moved by the passion that he transmits in his works and the sound of the viola de gamba relaxes me and accompanies me constantly. These weeks of confinement have accompanied me continuously. It is one of the soundtracks that I have had during this time. Savall is one of the great living Spanish musicians and his search and recovery of early music deserve all recognition. It is a pity that it is often more recognized outside our borders than in Spain.

I am also listening non-stop to Manel's latest album , Per la bona gent. I had the opportunity to attend the concert they did in Madrid in the distant month of December and this album has become my daughters' favorite: they ask me every morning to put it on, and I am delighted. I like their rhythms, the originality of their lyrics and the attitude of normal guys who spend. I have rediscovered them with this album and I will follow them closely.

Amélie Nothomb.SANTI COGOLLUDO.

LITERATURE

If we talk about literature, I think I will recommend Amélie Nothomb . I have read all his novels, and I am passionate about the suffocating universe he reflects, but also this mixture of irony and black humor that permeates all his work. I admire (and sometimes even envy) the originality of the author of Hygiene of the murderer, Stupor and tremors or Péplum. Now I admit that I am untrained, but once I read several of his novels in French.

And I do not want to forget about The Alexandria Quartet of Lawrence Durrell . This tetralogy is one of my reference works and it accompanies me wherever I go. The different points of view of the same reality and this kaleidoscopic look offered by the four novels together seem to me to be original and surprisingly plausible at the same time. The best thing about the work, for me, is the reflection of the interpersonal relationships that the author exposes. It is one of the works that belongs without a doubt to my sentimental education.

Hayao Miyazaki.

MOVIES

About movies it is true that lately due to circumstances that are not lost on anyone I am focused on children's films. I have retrieved the DVDs of the Harry Potter adventures , and I think they really fit the "for all ages" caption perfectly. In the same childish line, I definitely choose Hayao Miyazaki, who is an absolute marvel. I especially like Princess Mononoke, Ponyo on the Cliff, and My Neighbor Totoro. I feel unable to choose just one ...

As a more personal preference, one of my fetish directors is Éric Rohmer. His Tales of the Four Seasons have me captivated. I revisit these movies quite often. They are his latest works and in them he achieves the same depth as all his filmography, but introducing a kind face, typical of the wisdom that age gives you, without the drama that accompanies much of the director's work. I greatly admire the ability of French to dissect human relationships and, in particular, to describe without fuss the feelings of guilt, friendship and, above all, love. He does it in a humane, calm and also ironic and mocking way. For me, Rohmer reached the highest point of his work with these films.

Martin Sheen in a scene from 'The West Wing of the White House'.

SERIES

I have to talk about series. I am not currently viewing any. I can't get hooked on anything and I get tired often after the first few chapters. But I am very clear that the series that continues with me is The West Wing (The West Wing of the White House) . I know it may seem unoriginal, but that's the truth. I have repeatedly seen the chapters of each of its essential seven seasons and I never tire. I will not have the pretentiousness to say that it reminds me of the world in which my professional life unfolds, but there are some scenes that resemble what we sometimes have to live as politicians and politicians who have had to assume responsibilities.

If I can mention a children's series, I prefer Peppa Pig of the current ones, and also Pippi Längstrum and Heidi , which I have had the opportunity to revisit and which undoubtedly remind me of my childhood.
