French electronic music producer Rone, who released his new album Room With A View on the InFiné label on April 24, released the clip for one of his flagship songs, Nouveau monde . We see Haitians strolling through the streets during the carnival, amidst colorful monsters and crazy costumes, painted bodies and frenzied dances.

In its purely “musical” version, the title suggests sentences engaged in a dialogue on ecology between the astrophysicist and activist Aurélien Barrau and the writer Alain Damasio, partner of Rone for many years. But in the video version the clip preferred to unfold the sounds and voices of the inhabitants of this island, and their joy.

"A crazy, poetic, syncretic communion"

Director Jérôme Clément-Wilz, who chose to film the Haitian carnival, explains it in a press release: “In this documentary video, I wanted to portray what communion is. Not a simple regular Christian communion, but rather a crazy, poetic, syncretic communion. "

In a text posted under the video on YouTube, Rone invites those who would like to give some of their money to Haitian artists at the Jacmel Art Center, affected by the Covid-19 crisis, to this address.
