On June 12, 2016, a lone perpetrator shot 49 people to death at the Pulse gay club in Orland. It became the worst mass shooting to date in US history. Now author Johan Hilton publishes the book We Are Orlando - An American Tragedy.

He has interviewed survivors, relatives of the victims and people who worked at the nightclub. But also ordinary Orlando residents.

Johan Hilton believes that shooting at the nightclub fundamentally changed Orlando and that the event became a collective memory that has led to people joining the Pride flag.

Hilton also believes that the assault worked as an alarm clock.
