The Oga Aquarium in Oga City, Akita Prefecture, was closed from the 21st of last month in response to the national emergency declaration regarding the new coronavirus being spread throughout the country. Since the request to the aquarium etc. was lifted, business resumed on 7th of this month.

On the 10th, which was the first Sunday after the business reopened, parents and children visited and enjoyed seeing the sea creatures such as polar bears and seals after a long absence.

At the aquarium, some activities such as a corner to touch creatures are suspended, and infection prevention measures are taken such as calling on users to wear a mask thoroughly.

A 10-year-old boy from Hachirogata-machi said, "I was happy that I was able to come after a long time."

Also, a 45-year-old man from Akita City who visited with his family said, "I feel lonely because there are fewer people than usual, but I feel that when these facilities are restarted, I am gradually returning to everyday life."
