One year after the Otsuen child death and injuries Flower offering on site May 8 12:13

It has been one year since May last year, when a car crashed into a row of nursery school children taking a walk in Otsu City and two children died. At the scene where the kindergarten was waiting for the signal, a person concerned pointed at the flowers and appealed for prevention of recurrence.

On May 8, last year, a car plunged into a line of nursery school children waiting for a signal while walking at an intersection in Otsu City, killing two children and injuring 14 people including a nursery teacher.

On the 8th, a year after the accident, bouquets and drinks were offered at the scene.

At the flower stand on the site, police officers handed flowers to the dead children at the time of the outbreak after 10am.

A local man, who came to pray, said, "I used to look at the children taking a walk. I came to pray for the soul as if it had been another year."

After this, staff from prefectures and cities joined in with a plate saying "Let's protect children" and called on the driver to drive safely.

Hideki Nozaki, the chief of the Otsu police station, said, "I want to make every effort to prevent the accident from happening and try to prevent it from happening again."

The nursery school's operating company announced a comment in response to this accident, saying, "In order to prevent a sad accident from happening again, all drivers should be careful and try to drive safely."
