The head of the TVE Meteorology Section since 2008, Mónica López , will replace the journalist María Casado at the head of the morning section of TVE's La 1 , as reported by RTVE. The public corporation has announced this Friday that López will be in charge of leading the morning programming for TVE next season, replacing the current presenter of 'La Mañana', who will face other professional duties on RTVE.

Mónica López has been the head of the TVE Meteorology Section since 2008 and also hosts the Time 2 space , one of the most viewed of the day by viewers every day. She was awarded an Ondas Prize for the best presenter in 2016, and has a degree in Physics from the University of Barcelona in 1997, in the specialty of Earth and Cosmos Physics.

The same year he graduated, he became part of the first Spanish company dedicated to the preparation of meteorological information (Activa Multimedia Audiovisual Meteorological Services), where he was responsible for the drafting of meteorology. She made her debut as an expert in meteorology that same year on Vía Digital's Teletiempo and later on Canal Meteo on Canal Satélite Digital. After spending time on Channel 33, she made it to TV3 in 2001 to do El Temps and, from April 2004 to 2008, the year she joined TVE, she was the chain's Els Matins meteorologist.
