Today, Friday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced the first death among frontline workers to counter the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19).

The Kuwaiti Minister of Health, Dr. Basil Al-Sabah, mourned the Egyptian doctor, Tariq Hussein Mukhaimer, who had contracted the virus about two weeks ago.

"We belong to God and to Him we shall return, I console myself and all the colleagues on the death of Brother Dr. Tariq Hussain Mukhaimer, ENT doctor at Zain Hospital, affected by the complications of the emerging coronavirus. May God have mercy on him and inspired his family and loved ones patience and solace.

Mukhaimer, 62, was confirmed to have been infected for about two weeks. He was transferred to receive medical care, before he entered intensive care about a week ago after the condition deteriorated, until he died today.

The Egyptian ambassador to Kuwait Tariq Al-Quni, the late doctor who “presented his precious spirit for the sake of duty and service of the noble doctors’ message, mourned protecting and saving lives, even at the expense of themselves. ”

It is noteworthy that the late doctor, from the city of Mansoura (Delta Egypt) and has resided in Kuwait for nearly 20 years, and is the father of three sons (two sons and a girl), according to Kuwaiti media reports.
