To combat violence against children, the French government has decided to establish a partnership with the TikTok application, which has enjoyed phenomenal success with the younger generations. The operation aims to sensitize this public "to prevention messages" and to "activate the reflex to reach 119 in the event
of violence against minors," said in a press release the office of Adrien Taquet, Secretary of State to the Minister. Solidarity and Health.

Several artists are involved

The device was launched on Monday. "When a TikTok user searches for certain keywords, such as # 119 or #AlloEnfanceEnDanger, a banner 119, childhood in danger, appears," the press release read. If he clicks on this banner, the user is redirected to the page dedicated to this number.

The government chose TikTok because of the large number of young people who use it. On the social network, several celebrities have already mobilized for this cause, like the singer Keen'V, the ventriloquist Le cas Pucine, or the artist Stephane Legar.

"This new targeted awareness-raising operation supplements the government campaign launched at the beginning of April on all TVs, radios and web platforms, the unprecedented scale and duration of which have greatly contributed to the increase in calls to 119 the past few weeks, "the statement said.

The number of calls to 119 has increased by 20% since the start of containment.
